Mayo 21 &#8211; 23, 2020<\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][\/vc_row][vc_column][\/vc_column][vc_single_image source=\u00bbexternal_link\u00bb external_img_size=\u00bb1920&#215;1280&#8243; custom_src=\u00bbhttps:\/\/old.facartes.uniandes.edu.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/05-21-terra-symposium-2.jpg\u00bb][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Convocatoria<\/h2>\n<p>Para Alexander von Humboldt, el paisaje era \u201cla totalidad de los aspectos de una regi\u00f3n vistos por el hombre\u201d. Con esta afirmaci\u00f3n, Humboldt hac\u00eda referencia a un \u00e1rea de conocimiento cuyo car\u00e1cter es el resultado de la interacci\u00f3n de elementos tanto humanos como naturales. Muy com\u00fanmente, las Am\u00e9ricas se han pensado desde lo \u201ced\u00e9nico\u201d, por no haber sido tocadas por la mano del hombre, o han sido descritas como el proverbial \u201cPara\u00edso Natural\u201d. Con el largo siglo diecinueve como punto de partida, este simposio busca ponencias que examinen arte paisaj\u00edstico de las Am\u00e9ricas donde la intervenci\u00f3n humana sea evidente. A pesar de lo ed\u00e9nico, tanto los Euro-Americanos como los pueblos ind\u00edgenas dejaron huellas sobre esta tierra, y \u00e9stas huellas merecen ser investigadas. La evidencia para esta l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n puede hallarse en pinturas al \u00f3leo, fotograf\u00edas, grabados, mapas, libretas de viaje, memorias pintorescas y objetos tridimensionales. As\u00ed pues, el simposio busca ponencias que problematicen las concepciones tradicionales del territorio y el paisaje americanos a trav\u00e9s de nuevas interpretaciones del terreno de las Am\u00e9ricas, poniendo a dialogar el paisaje natural con el paisaje cultural. Identificar estos paisajes del hemisferio occidental nos permitir\u00e1 encontrar paralelos, confluencias y divergencias, tanto en los temas como en las preguntas que nos permitir\u00e1n estos nuevos acercamientos al territorio de las Am\u00e9ricas, de una manera consistente con la mirada cosmol\u00f3gica humboldtiana.<\/p>\n<p>El Simposio liderar\u00e1 discusiones pertinentes sobre el paisaje en las Am\u00e9ricas en el siglo diecinueve por medio de intercambios y conversaciones. La importancia de pensar la construcci\u00f3n del paisaje decimon\u00f3nico desde el siglo veintiuno abrir\u00e1 la posibilidad de entender c\u00f3mo nuestra construcci\u00f3n de ideas sobre paisaje significado, circulaci\u00f3n, representaci\u00f3n y usos\u00be enmarcan la forma en la que las naciones modernas se ven a s\u00ed mismas. Por medio de una gran variedad de participantes, el evento permitir\u00e1 que surjan nuevos temas de estudio, nuevas metodolog\u00edas para abordar el tema y nuevas propuestas de proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n. Ubicada, a 2600 metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar en la Cordillera Oriental de los Andes, en la ciudad de Bogot\u00e1, la Universidad de los Andes es un lugar ideal d\u00f3nde organizar un evento que tiene el paisaje americano como su tema central. Fue, precisamente, este ambiente andino el que estimul\u00f3 a viajeros como Humboldt, el Bar\u00f3n Gros y Frederic Church, entre otros, a formular nuevas ideas sobre arte y ciencia en el siglo diecinueve. Este Simposio tendr\u00e1 lugar muy cerca de importantes colecciones de arte del siglo diecinueve como las del Museo Nacional, la Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia o el Banco de la Rep\u00fablica, todas cercanas a la Universidad de los Andes. Ser\u00e1, pues, un evento de gran relevancia ubicado en el ambiente id\u00f3neo que promover\u00e1 discusiones sobre el paisaje de las Am\u00e9ricas como tema central.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Los temas pueden incluir pero no se limitan a:\u00a0<\/strong>im\u00e1genes y agricultura, sitios ind\u00edgenas, deforestaci\u00f3n y ecolog\u00eda, la construcci\u00f3n de los ferrocarriles, paisajes y miner\u00eda, migraciones y paisaje, paisajes simb\u00f3licos, puertos y comercio, sistemas de navegaci\u00f3n fluvial, tel\u00e9grafos y tecnolog\u00eda moderna, paisajes naturales y paisajes culturales, paisajes rom\u00e1nticos, viajes y migraciones, puentes y construcci\u00f3n de v\u00edas, mujeres e intervenciones en el paisaje, mujeres artistas y fot\u00f3grafas, prensa y viajes (peri\u00f3dicos, revistas y su role en la narraci\u00f3n del paisaje).<\/p>\n<p>Las propuestas y ponencias pueden presentarse en espa\u00f1ol o en ingl\u00e9s.
